Folks we could be on the threshold of eternity. It may be we are about to enter, or have already entered into the time of Jacob's trouble. Israel continues to be a powder keg. When all-out war breaks out, if it precipitates the Ezekiel 38 invasion, America is in major trouble and you will only be able to stand if you make the Lord your God your habitation. 

And what of Bin Laden? Is he the rider on the white horse in Revelation 6:2? Have the horses ridden? 

REV 6:2 And I looked, and behold, a white horse. And he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. 

In Matthew 24:6-7 Jesus tells us that: "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 

The "nation and against nation" and "kingdom against kingdom" is not being redundant. The Greek word for nation used here is "ethnos" which means ethnic wars between those of different races whereas kingdom is the word "basileia" which means a sovereign nation or realm. We have been experiencing Ethic wars over the last few decades that are unprecedented (the term ethnic cleansing has become vogue) and could certainly encompasses Arabs versus Jews and Americans. 

This time of ethnic warfare (INCREASING IN DURATION AND INTENSITY - REFERENCE TO AS BIRTHPAINS) will be followed by nation states fighting among themselves such as Russia versus the U.S. or China versus the U.S. or India versus Pakistan, etc. It will certainly, eventually, turn into a world war leading up to Armageddon...but first the man of sin has to come onto the scene and bring a false peace to the world. Bin ladin's terrorism fits into the category of ethnic wars which will lead to religious persecution. This parallels the red horse. He could also play apart in bringing the one-world government the antichrist will rule. Consider what is happening. The nations are drawing together against terrorism and are violating other nation's sovereignty. 

What would happen if Bin Ladin uses one or more of the suitcase nuclear weapons he has acquired on the Russian black market or if there is a nuclear exchange in the Middle-East and America also gets hit? 

Would there not be a cry for peace at any cost. Would not nations in panic do anything to achieve peace and avoid future nuclear annihilation? Stage set; one world government initiated; and the Antichrist enters stage left. You can see the move toward one world government now in this multi-national force against terrorism and you can see the mark of the beast starting as the call for a national smart card identity card has been called for as security against terrorists. 

I do not think the anti-christ is Bin ladin, but no one will know for sure until he declares himself god in the temple of god. 

Note that prior to the hot war, MAT 24:4-5 Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. 

This is Messianic deception -- and it parallels the white horse. Bin ladin has not declared himself Messiah, nor does he fulfill the many requirements of THE anti-christ as laid out in Scripture, but he could certainly be of the anti-christ spirit...Bible tells us there have been many anti-christs, but there will be only one who is indwelt bodily by Satan himself. He is certainly doing the work of an anti-christ spirit -- kill, steal and destroy. Daniel tells us he will not be revealed (we will not know for sure who he is) until he sits in the temple of God and exalts himself above all that is holy. 

A bow is a weapon of warfare, the fact there are no arrows is significant as this one, who is bent on conquest, achieves his goal through deceit. When you consider how much America has disarmed under the cold war, I would say the hero on the white horse accomplished his objectives -- we have been deceived into thinking the cold war is over and have unilaterally disarmed. You might think, well that is just is America, well the bible notes: ""Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?" There are only two superpowers left (U.S. and Russia)...when U.S. is neutralized, who can make war with the beast? 

I believe what is happening in America will set the stage for the invasion of Isreal as prophesied in Ezekiel 38&39. We are rapidly depleting our munitions bombing rocks in Afghanistan. Ask your self, during the two weeks before America retaliated and broadcasted what its actions would be to the Taliban, do you think Bin ladin is still there? Of course not, this is an unbelievable show against another 3rd rate nation. It has been going on for a month with little result other then to deplete our munitions. We are getting weaker. Will there be a move against Taiwan or South Korea or some other conflict to further thin out our forces --- and then will we see the move against Israel? 

God tells us in Ezekiel 38/39 that when He judges the Israeli invading forces (Russia and radical Muslim nations), He will also judge another nation that lives in the safety of the far-distant coastlands. 

I believe that the distant nation is America -- overripe for judgement as America, among other things, has spilt the blood of over 40 million innocents. I believe the trigger of God's judgement will be America supporting the Palestinians against the Jews and the terrorism that is happening now will accelerate Anti-Jewish sentiment in America and that will remove God's hand of protection over this nation. 

Once America is neutralized, either physically or philosophically, I believe we will see rapid movement towards anti-christ rule and Armageddon, but first, in the aftermath of the Russian-Muslim defeat by God (Eze 38&39) and America's neutralization, there will be a time of peace where the one-world gov., mark-of-the-beast, religious persecution and all that comes to pass. 

I do not believe that the events depicted in the Book of the Revelation are sequential as some believe. When you see the phrase, "After these thing" (Meta Tauta), in the Greek, another translation would be: "In the midst of these things". John is seeing a panorama vision of many things happening at the same time. 

As far as prolonging America's time, prayer will help, but we can pray all we want...what God is after is repentance (2Chron 7:14 - repentance in the CHURCH which now has a divorce rate at least equal to the world, a church that is embracing homosexuality, etc.) 

Relative to the "Bow" in the hands of the rider on the white horse, from the study of Ezekiel 38 & 39: 

Ezekiel 39:3 -- "God says of Magog (Leader of Russia): "Then I will strike your bow from your left hand and make your arrows drop from your right hand.''

The term "arrow'' is translated from two Hebrew root words (transliterated as "Chets'' [Strong's reference number 2671], and "Qesheth'' [strong's reference number 7198]. Chet means "a piercer or piercing shaft which is figurative of a thunderbolt from God"). In 1611, a piercing shaft that is projected like a thunderbolt would be an arrow. The other Hebrew word, "Qesheth", is that which launches it, or a bow. The lexicon of the modern-day Bible for Ezekiel 39:3 is not the original Hebrew, but rather the closest thing the English translators of 1611 could come up with. Today, we might say "I will strike your missile launchers from your left hand and make your missiles drop from your right hand'' and be perfectly justified in doing so. And as we shall find out later, missiles and nuclear bombs are most likely involved."

Unless there is massive repentance within the church, I do not see how America will survive untouched. We will, of course, eventually have to fall from dominance so the revived roman empire and the seat of the anti-christ can rise. The question is one of timing and that depends on the level of repentance. Even Nineveh was eventually destroyed, but national repentance from the Head on down gave Nineveh another 100 years or so. 

However, in the midst of chaos and destruction, the glorious church will be refined without spot or blemish and those that truly know there God and have been refined, will do great exploits for the Lord (Daniel). We will see miracles at a level never seen before as God knows how to preserve his remnant in the midst of destruction. 

Joel saw "multitudes, multitudes, in the valley of decision" BEFORE the coming of the terrible Day of the Lord. Revival is coming, but it will be in the midst of unrest and signs in the heavens and on the earth as God will once again shake all things so the desired of the nations shall come. 

Is there Hope? 

" .. If my people [not the unsaved], who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14) 

Notice that this passage says that it is God's people who must humble themselves and repent before God will relent. This is exactly what happened to Nineveh. Jonah was sent to Nineveh when it was just 40 days from judgment. Then a miracle happened. From the king on down, the entire country humbled themselves and repented. Although judgment had been pronounced and God had even given them a date for their destruction, God relented and Nineveh survived another 100 years before meriting final judgment. Will the church of America repent? 

And what if judgment does come? Are the sheep ready, physically and spiritually, to be God's instrument to bring hope and healing? 

Certainly we should not despair or grow depressed. There is Hope in Jesus. Jesus has promised His children, those who have been reborn of the Spirit, that He would never leave them or forsake them. If we have accepted Jesus' free gift of salvation, then no matter what happens in the future, He will be with us. When the storms of life come against us, it will be possible for you to stand by His mighty power and presence in our life. 

God knows how to deliver His people. Noah and his family were protected through Judgment by the Ark of their salvation. During their exodus from Egypt, God fed the children of Israel with manna in the wilderness and provided water out of solid rock. He even parted the Red Sea. Lot and His family were escorted out of the city by Angels before Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego walked through the fire unharmed, because God was with them. "I have never seen God's people forsaken, or their children begging for bread." (Psalm 37:25b) 

Psalms 23 and 91 are beautiful promises of God to preserve and comfort his children. Read them, walk with the Lord, and trust Him to preserve and protect us. God has begun to shake America, but Jesus says: "Do not let your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in me" (John 14:1). 

For the Turtle Rock community, in the middle of the California firestorms of the nineties, these promises became a reality. A wall of fire 200 feet high was heading for their community. Destruction was all around. Many of God's children were in that community. Their home church, when notified of the impending disaster, went into corporate prayer for them. They prayed: "God, your judgments are just, but there are righteous there, like when you destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah." They prayed for God to stop the wind. The next day the papers reported: 

"It was like a miracle, the fire came right up to the edge of the community and then, inexplicably, the winds shifted and the fire took a right-hand turn." After the fire, Turtle Creek looked like an island of safety in a sea of destruction. Yes, God answers the prayers of His children. And yes, God knows how to deliver His children. 

"I will shake all nations, and the desired of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,' says the LORD Almighty." (Hag 2.7) 

"Watch and pray, therefore, that you would be counted worthy to escape the judgment that is coming upon the earth and be able to stand before the Son of Man" (Luke 21:36).
