In the aftermath of the September 11th disaster and the subsequent anthrax attack, we need to recognize that the church of America needs to humble themselves and repent in accordance with 2 Chron 7:14 or even greater judgement will be on its way as God pleads for repentance. Nita Johnson, this week on Sid Roth, indicated that she also believes that God's judgement on America will continue due to the sin of abortion and as America begins to turn away from Israel. Bill Koenig (www.watch.org) correlated the disasters on America with sin-events: "The Lord has given this country many warning signs since then, and He has been enormously fair. However, rather than protecting Israel and her land, the U.S. has managed to help put her at great risk through these now ongoing peace efforts. Ironically, since the current Bush Administration took office, the events in and around Israel have been much more intense than in the previous years . The reason is because Israel has never been at greater risk. The Lord's fury is building and so is the intensity of the Lord's warning signs. This development is not so much a reflection on President George W. Bush as it is of where the world is in time. Prophetically speaking, many people place today's events at or near the end of the church age. With that in mind, no American President has ever planned as a Middle East peace initiative statement as was scheduled to be shared with the Saudi Ambassador to the United Nations on September 13. This same initiative was then to be presented to the U.N. General Assembly on September 23. Those dates were canceled by the terror events of September 11 (and remain canceled as of this writing). Additionally, no U.S. President has ever publicly stated that he favored a Palestinian State as President Bush did on October 2. The events listed below show the importance of the decisions which President Bush has made and will be making in the coming days. First International Crisis: On March 31, the same day that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak arrived in Washington for Mideast Peace Talks, China bumped into our EP-3 reconnaissance plane, and a crisis evolved. Jordan's King Abdullah II arrived shortly thereafter to convince President Bush to become more involved in the peace talks and to endorse the Egyptian-Jordanian Initiative. Abdullah left Washington, and the next day, we received our air crew back. First Political Crisis: On May 22, the same day that President Bush publicly endorses the Mitchell Plan, the Republicans lose their majority in the U.S. Senate because of Vermont Senator Jeffords' decision to the Republican Party. This defection adversely appointments, the legislative agenda, and all committee chairmanships, headed by Democrats. First National Disaster Declaration: On June 8, the same day CIA Director George Tenet sat down with Israeli and Palestinian negotiators in Ramallah and discussed a cease-fire proposal, leading to a confirmation of the Mitchell Plan, Tropical Storm Allison pummeled Houston with 28 inches of rain in 24 hours. Allison became the largest tropical storm rain producer in U.S. history. This multi-billion dollar storm also became President Bush's first national disaster declaration with counties in Texas alone being declared disasters. Largest Terrorism Event in U.S/World History: At the time of the September 11 terror event, the Bush administration was putting the final touches on the most comprehensive message ever by this country, pertaining to the land of Israel, for presentation to the U.N. General Assembly and to the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to the UN on September 13 Washington. The World Trade Center and Pentagon terror events prevented that speech from being delivered by Secretary of State Colin Powell on September 23. He was to acknowledge approval of a Palestinian state, address the Palestinian refugee situation and the status of Jerusalem, and heartily endorse the Mitchell Plan. It was also reported that President Bush was planning to meet with Yasser Arafat in New York during those General Assembly meetings. Largest Anthrax Outbreak in U.S. History: On October 2, President Bush stated publicly that he was in favor of a Palestinian state, which included a part of Jerusalem. On the same day, the national anthrax scare began in Florida as one man contracted anthrax and died shortly thereafter (October 5). Another person from the American Media office contracted anthrax, and five others were exposed. This began a growing spate of "anthrax anxiety" with findings in the offices prominent government and media personalities. Anthrax was a very rare occurrence before Oct. 2 and has now become the focus of the daily news. There were eighteen inhalant anthrax cases from 1900 to 1976, none from 1976 to 2001" Clearly Bill has once again demonstrated for us that God is speaking and is pleading for repentance. Yet our churches, after a flurry of activity after the September 11th disaster, are now returning to "normal". One reader wrote: "God tells us to humble ourselves, myself, our church, and the world -- but we are not humble. We are not praying and seeking God's face, nor turning from our sin. IF we did this we would be forgiven and the lord promises to heal our land. Our church on a Sunday morning should be praying not for 5 minutes, but maybe the whole service. I feel God wants to see us on our knees pleading with Him crying to Him, begging Him to have mercy on this land." Has the Church of America Repented? Has the "church" turned from its wicked ways? Or is it still steeped in a Laodicean spirit, embracing sin as an acceptable alternative life style, not standing corporately against abortion in prayer and standing in support of Christian Pregnancy counseling and other pro-life organizations? What would happen if churches across this land would start to preach on sin -- inviting the conviction of the Holy Spirit? What would happen if churches would corporately pray for more then a couple of minutes a week? Would they be able to move mountains? I believe so, but the church remains paralyzed and powerless as the enemy continues the onslaught to win the hearts and souls of unbelievers and lull believers into a deep apathetic sleep. Natural disasters are continuing to increase on America (record tornadoes in October, continued flooding and drought at the same time, earthquakes in diverse places - NYC had a small one this week, etc.). God is speaking, the thunders are uttering their voices, and still man does not repent. The "Harry Potter" mania is a prime example of the enemies direct attack as witchcraft is glamorized and a nations children are enamored with and introduced to the thought that they can have power over other other men. What was the deception Satan perpetrated on Adam and Eve -- though shalt be like God. Why did Satan fall, because He wanted to be God. Power is something that the flesh of man lusts for. A wise man once said: "Power corrupts, but absolute power corrupts, absolutely." What is the churches response to the Harry Potter invasion? Are they praying against it? Are they sounding the alarm? We are to occupy until the Lord returns, but His army that is supposed to tearing down strongholds has been put to sleep by the enemy and remains powerless. David Bay of Cutting Edge Ministries writes: "The craze over Harry Potter is absolutely bizarre. Consider these statistics, provided by a retail manufacturer who has just obtained the Harry Potter license for their line. "At this time, seven books are planned, one for each year Harry attends the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. 28 million books are in circulation worldwide, 19.1 million books in the U.S. alone. As of February, 2000, all three Harry Potter books appeared in the top ten of the New York Times best seller list -- an unprecedented occurrence for children's books. The Harry Potter books have a world wide appeal and have already been published in 115 countries and in 28 languages. Warner Bros. is planning to release the first Harry Potter movie based on book number one, Harry Potter and the Socerer's Stone, in Summer, 2001." These statistics are unbelievable, especially when you consider the story that J.K. Rowling, the author, was nearly bankrupt with a little girl to raise just a few short years ago. This story would be the epitome of "rags to riches", except for the fact that the story line of her Harry Potter creation features the most sophisticated, the most accurate, depiction of advanced Witchcraft imaginable. Rowling clearly knows her Witchcraft, and a lot of it is obscure, secret Witchcraft, and she writes about it in a most innocent, seductive manner. It is no wonder that so many kids, ages 8-18, have been so caught up in the Harry Potter craze. But, the Public School systems of England and the United States are getting in on the act, as well. Bloomsbury Publishers, U.K. and Scholastic Publisher, U.S. have taken the lead in getting Harry Potter books established as regular curricula. Thus, Scholastic Harry Potter Teacher's Literature Guides have sprung up and are being sold to teachers in retail outlets so that they would know how to teach the material to their students. Rather than emphasizing the blatant and bold Witchcraft, these teacher's guides say to emphasis the "good versus evil" aspect of the storyline, and the "core values" of love, loyalty, courage, and determination. But, make no mistake about the fact that, if you allow your children to attend Public Schools in England, North America, Australia, and probably New Zealand, your child will be assigned Harry Potter books to read and to write reports on. This is a serious matter, because these books contain the most vivid discussions of actual - Witchcraft imaginable, and does so in a way that convinces children that Witchcraft is not only all right, but is preferable to the world without Witchcraft, and that no consequences need to be feared if they practiced this type of Witchcraft. Finally, J.K. Rowling not only knows her Witchcraft, but she knows Illuminati Witchcraft. She consistently uses Illuminist symbols to portray key elements in her books, and she uses them in exactly the correct Illuminist meaning. Since the major goal of the Illuminati is to successfully stage the appearance of Antichrist, all Christian parents should be concerned that, just maybe, Harry Potter books are conditioning their precious children to accept him when he arises. Hogwart's School is the preeminent school for Witchcraft in the entire world of Satanism. While it is controlled by the most powerful Witch on the planet, Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, the school is controlled by the White Magic forces. Dumbledore is always on the guard for any attempt by the Black Magick side to take over and control the school. Of the four fraternity houses on campus, three are White Magic and one is Black Magick. This school teaches a Witchcraft that is eerily real in its details. Many of the spells described are real, and many of the potions are real. Many of the activities described are real, but the reader is not told that in the actual world of Satanism, many of the spells and activities either require the personal demonic possession of the witch or wizard performing the spell, or require human sacrifice. All of the books feature a story line of a battle between Harry Potter and his White Magic cohorts and the Black Magick side, with Lord Voldemort standing in the background, fighting through subordinates within the school. The narrative is entertaining, and flows extremely well. The books are written at a fourth-fifth grade level, which accounts for their popularity. Each book deals with a particular year that Harry is attending Hogwarts. Thus, the Sorcerer's Stone details Harry's freshman year, Chamber of Secrets his sophomore year, Prisoner at Azakaban his junior year, and Goblet of Fire his senior year. Our recommendation is that Christian parents should NOT allow their children to read these books [NOR SEE THE MOVIE]. Further, the fact that Public Schools are now requiring Harry Potter books to be part of their curricula is just one more reason to pull your precious children out now! Since we are living at the very End of the Age, with the appearance of Antichrist evidently fairly close, we should expect a major push to occur that will condition the majority of the public to accept his values of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry Potter books perform this feat handily. All children everywhere are being taught to love Harry Potter and the White Magic Witchcraft he performs. They are already emulating his lightning bolt scar in the middle of his forehead, in exactly the place where the False Prophet will one day soon require every person in the world to take the Mark of the Beast as a symbol of loyalty to Antichrist. When people by the hundreds of millions take this Mark of the Beast, how many of them will have been preconditioned to accept such a mark in such a place on their body because of Harry Potter? This concept brings us back to the illustration of the unicorn-demon holding a little boy in his lap while the chap is reading a Harry Potter book. However, unbeknownst to the little boy [and his parents], the demon is tattooing a lightning bolt in the middle of the child's forehead, precisely the location where the ultimate Mark of the Beast is going to be placed by the False Prophet. We believe this conditioning is exactly what Satan has in mind for the Harry Potter books to accomplish. Are you spiritually ready? Is your family? Are you adequately protecting your loved ones? Yes, revival is coming, but it will be a "Joel" revival where there will be multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision, before the coming of the terrible Day of the Lord. Joel saw the multitudes in the valley of decision in the midst of turmoil on the earth and signs in the heavens. When the great mid-west floods occurred in the mid-nineties, it was common place to hear individuals on national TV who had lost every thing, giving God the glory for saving their lives…somehow disaster helps us to put our priorities in order. God is after repentance. Even in the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christy, when the terrible Bowls of wrath are being poured out, we read "and still man did not repent". This is perhaps the greatest opportunity for evangelism in this country as people in fear are looking to God. Pray that the Lord of the Harvest would send in the laborers. A few weeks ago, during worship, I was staring at a picture of the Lamb that was slain and the blood that flowed and seemed to make a path, and the Lord spoke these words: "And I shall make a path, a new and living way, that all that come and call upon my name shall find Me. No longer shall darkness hide them; no longer shall they be blinded by the enemy of their souls. For I shall light the way. My path shall rise up to meet them and they shall call upon My name…and I shall be found. Sound the trumpet on My Holy Mountain Prepare for War! Be still and know that I am God For the victory is mine. Behold, thy eyes shall see the Glory of My Salvation And you [and others] shall be raised up to stand in My sight Do not despair, but prepare in Spirit and Truth, For I am the Lord thy God." The FBI on Monday issued a new terrorism warning - the second this month - a asking Americans to be on their highest alert for possible attacks this week. --President Bush is reportedly concerned that al Qaida, the terrorist group led by Osama bin Laden, may try to use a small nuclear device in a "super-spectacular" strike to decapitate the U.S. political leadership. (UPI Correspondent Richard Sale, see http://www.unitedstates.com/news/fcontent/771366/nuke ). --Attorney General John Ashcroft said the FBI warning was based upon "credible" intelligence from a variety of different sources and "should be taken seriously." --The U.S. intelligence community believes tactical nuclear weapons may have been sold to the terrorists by corrupt Russian military officers and/or members of the Russian or Chechen mafias with whom bin Laden is known to be in contact. The Soviet Union developed "suitcase bombs" during the 1960s. --Homeland Security Directory Tom Ridge frustrated some of America's governors during a conference call in which he exhorted them to put their state apparatus on the highest possible alert. Many states have been on their highest alert and their governors are hard pressed to know how to ratchet it higher. America has entered a perilous period during which terrorist attacks of any magnitude could lead to paralyzing fear, widespread panic, disruptions in government, a stock market crash and/or a meltdown of our already contracting economy. Our nation is under the judgment of God. The measure of devastation we must face will depend upon the measure with which God's people "humble themselves and pray, and turn from their wicked ways." Even yet, a repentant praying people with clean hands and pure hearts will find safety in and lenience from the God of the Bible. It is time for God's people to pray!
