"Amin a-Husseini, former Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, is on his travels
again. For some years he has been in sanctuary in Egypt, safe
from the British and the French who wanted to arrest him. Now he
has been ordered out of Egypt, and is reported to be seeking refuge in
Saudi Arabia."
"The Grand Mufti has long been known as an arch-plotter in the Near
East. A mufti is a Mohammedan priest who specializes in
expounding religious law. Amin al-Husseini was chief of the group
in Jerusalem, and used his religious prestige to plot against Jews and
British. He hoped to make Palestine his own kingdom. His
assassins killed Moslem statesmen in other countries who opposed his
views, notably, in 1951, king Abdullah of Jordan. He inspired the
unsuccessful war waged by Egypt against Israel in 1948."
"When his patron King Farouk of Egypt fell from power, that country
became less eager to harbor that hot potato, the Grand Mufti. He
has been told to go, but wherever he goes, troubles follows."

bring up the name of that controversial figure, the ex-Grand Mufti of
Jerusalem, once the focal point of the violent Arab struggle against
the Zionists of mandated Palestine. The Mufti has denied that he
had ever had anything to do with Eichmann. The police bureau,
which gathered the evidence against Eichmann claims, however, that it
has given the prosecution a detailed report on Eichmann and the Mufti."

ISRAEL

Eichmann trial by sympathizing with the accused."

regret that Eichmann and his like did not finish the job of wiping out

of Jerusalem collabrated with Eichmann and his staff."
