The New Deal-Democratic coalition and president truman's election prospects are taking another sock on the chin today.

The trouble lies in Palestine.  But its importance here is a matter of domestic politics.  The president's Palestine policy stated yesterday to the United Nations at Lake Success will not please the Jews here.  They want our arms embargo lifted so Palestine Jews may arm themselves further against the Arabs, and, perhaps, dispatch of armed United Nations forces to establish the Jewish homeland.
